Snip Snip

So we decided that Kree needed a bit of a trim. He was starting to support the mullet- you can see how long his hair was getting in the 2nd picture in the ponytail. I was hesitant but I had scheduled a hair appointment for myself so I gave in and decided it was time for Kree since he turns 1 next week. He was a brave soul and did so good. He didn't cry or anything but he wanted to see where daddy was or what the heck was on his head so there are a few stragglers left but looks good for his first haircut. It was so sad, all that baby hair gone and now he looks so grown up. He's growing up way too fast. Here are a few pictures during the experience and he even got a lollipop at the end. What a champ!

He kinda had his eyes all funny in this picture but was sure loving his sucker.

Dog Lover

So last week I went to Idaho Falls to go Birthday shopping for Kree and my brother and his wife were there. They have the cutest little Maltese puppy- only about 10 or 11 weeks old at the time. Kree just loves dogs and definitely does not have any fear. My sister has a dog and Kree is always trying to grab it and hit- this is his way of loving it I guess but he does the same with my brother's dog Neve. It is the tiniest thing and we still have to be somewhat gentle with him. Kree is not though and Neve finally faught back. They were so cute together. Kree would attack Neve and then Neve would attack Kree and this went on for a while. It was hilarious! Here are a few pictures of how cute they were and video. I have to get a dog now for Kree.

Can I Take A Moment

So I just wanted to take a moment and let everyone know how appreciative I am for the the wonderful family and life that I have. It's amazing how much I take for granted the things that I have and the things that I am able to do. The reason I bring this up is this past weekend we attended a funeral for one of Ragen's cousin's Rachel. She was only 10. Ragen's Aunt and Uncle are carriers of a very rare disorder called Monochromatic Leukodystrophy. The chances of two people meeting and both being carriers of this is very rare. They have had 6 children (3 were triplets) all together in which all but 1 have been diagnosed with this disease and 3 have already died.

Monochromatic Leukodystrophy is a very rare disorder that affects the myelin structure around the nerves which in turn affects the balance and muscles. These children for the most part were crawling and standing somewhat before it really affected them. They are all in wheelchairs and are in somewhat of a vegetative state. They are able to express thoughts in their own little ways but are unable to speak, walk, move eat on their own, etc. They have already lived past what they were expected.

So as I was sitting there watching this family greet people at the viewing, I couldn't help but start to cry. First of all because it was family and I hate having to deal with death, second of all because she was only a child and no child should have to die, and third of all because I sat and watched there only son who was not diagnosed with the disorder try and hold back his emotions but eventually was not able to. My heart went out to him as well as the rest of their family, for what they have had to deal with for so many years and how much they have endured. Then I watched the two children in wheelchairs and you could see it in their faces how sad and vulnerable they were, bnut were unable to tell anyone or cry even. I couldn't hold back my emotions.

It made me think of how blessed I am and made me realize that I could never do what these parents have done and endured what they've endured. To know that my children will die long before I ever would would be unbearable and heartbreaking. They are such amazing people and I am truly blessed and humbled to know them and be a part of their lives. It makes me grateful to know that we have the Plan of Salvation and to know that they will be with their children again someday. Also to know that Rachel is now with her grandparents and her sister and brother who have already pasted on.

Rachel, we will truly miss you and love you and know that you are in a better place now where you are free from everything and are able to run around and probably talking up a storm.

1 More Month To Go!

So I feel that I haven't posted for a while. Life has been busy, too busy and Kree has grown so much right before my eyes. About 2 weeks ago or so Kree started walking with his Walk N' Ride toy- it is so cute. We're just waiting for him to do the real thing now- he is so close. I can't believe that he is going to be 1 YEAR in 1 MONTH. My baby is growing up too fast. Right now he is probably right about 20lbs, he went in about 2 weeks ago for an ear infection and he weighed 19lbs 12oz. Some fun things that he is doing right now are:
  • Walking with his Walk N' Ride toy
  • Throws the biggest tantrums now when he doesn't get his way
  • Has quite the attitude- what a little stinker
  • Will say "Da-da" and "ma-ma" (he only seems to say my name when he is mad or crying or something.
  • Is tapering down on the bottles- yeah! He maybe only has 2 a day or so
  • Loves lots of new foods, mac n' cheese, hot dogs, pudding, jello, and pretty much whatever we are eating that he is able to eat
  • Has two top front teeth that are getting so close to popping through
  • Is in to everything imaginable
  • Loves his blanky and gets mad when you take it away
  • Still loves to give open mouth kisses
  • and still wants to flirt and show off for everyone

We love this little guy so much!

So also this past weekend we decided to go to Ragen's family cabin in Island Park. Most of his family was there and some family friends. The guys went snowmobiling most of the time and us women basically hung out in the cabin and watched kids. It was so nice to be able to have a relaxing weekend though especially in the beautiful mountains. We played this fun game that Leslie my sister-in-law taught us and that would explain the following pictures.

This was Saturday morning when the kids woke up. They were all so cute in the morning. These are Kree's cousin's Tregan and Abree. He just loves them!
