TREKER CALL DARRINGTON
He's Here! Treker Call Darrington is finally here. He arrived to us on February 15 2012 at 3:37pm. He was 7lbs 2oz, 20 1/2 inches long.
We are so Happy that he is here, healthy and adorable.
Here's how it happened... I went to work on Tuesday (Valentines Day), got home about 2:30, ate some late lunch, was getting ready for our Tax appointment at 4:00, sat down on the couch for a minute at about 3:30 and then my water broke. I wasn't quite sure at first because people have always told me that it's like a gush of fluid that runs down to your feet, mine was just like I peed my pants, but as minutes went on more kept coming off and on. We called my sister to come get Kree and thought we better head to the hospital to have it checked. Sure enough my water had broke and I was officially in labor.
Ragen was so mad because he did not want a Valentines baby and new that he jinxed himself.
We totally thought that we would have this baby that night, but labor was progressing slowly. Later that evening about 9:30 I was only dilated to about a 4, had an epidural about 2:30am, later checked only at a 6 but then decided it was about a 5, put an intrauterus catheter in to help determine more effectively and then increased pitosin more. The nurse kept telling us that the highest she has ever had to increase the pitosin is to about 26 and I was already reaching that point. The MD told her that they could increase as high as 36.
The hardest part was the epidural had worked so well in my legs that I was unable to even wiggle my toes since I had the epidural early that morning. They had to keep coming and turning me because I was unable to move at all, my legs were becoming swollen from no movement so they put tedhose on me.
Rechecked again about 10:00am and still at about a 6 and then increased pitosin more, checked again at 11 and was at an 8 and increased pitosin to 36, kept checking every hour and eventually hit a 10 at about 2:30/3:00pm. We then started pushing for about a half hour/ 45 minutes. The epidural worked in the legs but it started wearing out in my abdomen some but not completely thank goodness because it was already becoming uncomfortable. Treker was then born at 3:37pm.
I went in to this expecting everything to be so similar to Kree's labor but it was completely opposite. I was not expecting 24 hours of labor, but Ragen got his wish... no Valentines baby. We are so greatful that Treker is here no matter how it happened and grateful that he is healthy and adorable and we love him so much.
Since we've been home, it has been so cute to watch Kree with Treker. He is so protective of him and the the baby's stuff. Loves to kiss him and touch him but sometimes he likes to touch him a little too hard. They are going to be the best of friends. I love these two little guys soooo much and don't know what I would do without them.
I just want to thank everyone who has helped during the last several days, all my family who has taken care of Kree for us and been there to support us and who came to visit Treker. Especially Ragen... He has been amazing through this whole thing and I don't know what I would do without him. I love him so much and he is an amazing dad.
I will post more pictures here soon.
